When in Rome, do as the Romans do. When in the USA - well, what does one do with the campus unrest and wary police of America's Flower Power era? Famed Italian filmmaker Michelangelo Antonioni (Blowup) provides an intriguing and boldly cinematic answer in this work set in L.A. and Death Valley. A young couple is at the center of the movie maestro's keen-eyed lens. She (Daria Halprin) is a sometime secretary whose duties may extend to the boudoir of her boss (Rod Taylor). He (Mark Frechette) is a sometime student who may be involved in a cop's death. The two meet, connect, play, love, move on: he to tragedy, she to an open road.
